Frequently asked questions
Short answers about sending a From Here postcard: what you can upload, what it costs, when you're charged, and what happens if it can't be delivered.
What can I upload?
A photo from your camera roll. iPhone HEIC photos are converted automatically, and very large photos are resized for you. You need to own the photo or have the right to use it, and we may refuse or cancel an order whose content is illegal, infringing, abusive, obscene, or harassing.
How many recipients can I send one to?
You can add more recipients to the same order. The first recipient is $5.99 and each additional recipient is $1.99.
Do I need a return address?
You provide a return address at checkout for each order, unless you send anonymously. If a card can't be delivered, USPS returns it to that address, not to the recipient and not to us.
What happens if my postcard is undeliverable?
USPS returns it to your return address. Undeliverable and returned postcards are final sale, so we don't offer reprints, refunds, or resends.
When am I charged?
Your card is charged when you place your order, not when the postcard ships. Payment is processed through Stripe.
Can I cancel or change an order?
Production starts shortly after you place an order, so we can't guarantee changes or cancellations. Email hello@mailedfromhere.com right away and we'll do what we can. Refunds are generally not offered once an order is submitted, except where required by law or at our discretion.
Can I send a postcard anonymously?
Yes. Choose to send anonymously at checkout. There is no return address, and the From name on the note becomes optional. An anonymous postcard that can't be delivered cannot be returned or resent.
Will I get email updates?
At checkout you can choose to receive an order confirmation by email. We don't currently send shipping notifications, so use the delivery timing to know when to expect your postcard.
How long does delivery take?
Postmarked within 1–2 business days, arrives within 4–7 business days once mailed, subject to USPS.
Can I send a postcard outside the US?
No. Recipients need a US mailing address.
